PANCREAS
. Insulin is a polypeptide hormone that lowers
blood glucose levels and increases storage of
glycogen in the liver
. Glucagon is a steroid hormone that raises the
blood glucose level and stimulates the
breakdown of glycogen in the liver
. The pancreas is underneath the stomach,
settled into the bottom curve of the stomach
and attached to the entrance of the small
intestine.
. If the pancreas isnt working a person can get
Diabetes Mellitus or Diabetes insipidus

PANCREAS
. Insulin is secreted in small amounts
throughout the day to control glucose level
and in a larger amount while people are
eating. It turns glucose from the food we eat
into energy by transferring the glucose from
our blood to our cells.
. Glucagon is a counterbalance to insulin. It
converts glycogen to blood sugar. Which
takes action when you fast or take in too
little sugar.
